1956

Peter Kennedy made two recording trips in 1956, but only his trip to East Anglia appears to have been written up in a detailed report. A handwritten notebook with summary notes on the second trip is, however, in his collection at the British Library.

In this latter excursion, Kennedy recorded in Oxford, Devon, Cornwall and the Scilly Isles between the 13th and 23rd of November. Performers include the Cantwells, William Kimber, Bob Cann, The Truro Wassailers, Tom Robins, John Thomas, John Casley, The Matthews Brothers, John Chappell, Vic Trenwith, Bill Cameron, Clifford Jenkins, John Thomas, Pendeen singers, Joe Thomas and The Skinners Bottom Glee Singers.
